First week of the holidays is shiokness.
Slacking time is shiokness, especially if you have gone through IAP. LOL.
Anws, gf has asked me to think of my favorite five players of each of the respective soccer positions - goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and strikers. So since I'll be racking my brians over this (since I have too much time =x), I might as well share it with the soccer freaks (like me) out there. =D
Ranking is not applied here. =)
Order: Player name - Nationality, current club =)
Alrighty, so my top 5 strikers are..
1. David Villa - Spain, Valencia (please don't go to real madrid)
2. Fernando Torres - Spain, Liverpool (fast, good in foot and aerial)
3. Andrei Arshavin - Russia, Arsenal (my top second striker at the moment!)
4. Thierry Henry - France, Barcelona (his soccer skills and techniques are stunning)
5. Francesco Totti - Italy, Roma (always spearhead his team)
As for the midfielders..
1. Xavi Hernandez - Spain, Barcelona (all his passes are deadly)
2. Kaka - Brazil, Real Madrid (I respect his move for the reason of AC Milan)
3. Tim Borowski - Germany, Bayern Munich (although not well known, but I realised that he's a very gifted all rounder midfielder from his performance for Germany. I think he's even better than Michael Ballack)
4. Steven Gerrard - England, Liverpool (a very consistent player whom i think everybody will put this player in their top 5 midfielders)
5. Frank Lampard - England, Chelsea (I have nothing to say about this player. Simply flawless)
Defenders..
1. Carlos Puyol - Spain, Barcelona (strong in the air, fast and calm. Great stuff)
2. Rio Ferdinand - England, Manchester United (finally someone from my favourite club =x)
3. Christoph Metzelder - Germany, Real Madrid (strong in the air and have great body balance)
4. Sergio Ramos - Spain, Real Madrid (fast and acute)
5. John Terry - England, Chelsea (his positioning is always vital in the defence of the team)
Finally, goalkeepers..
1. Gianluigi Buffon - Italy, Juventus (my always number 1 goalkeeper)
2. Iker Casillas - Spain, Real Madrid (my always number 2)
3. Edwin van der Sar - Netherlands, Manchester United (number 3)
4. Petr Cech - Czech Republic, Chelsea (gifted I must say)
5. Shay Given - Republic of Ireland, Manchester City (he is good, but not recognised)
These players are subject to change, depending on their performances and my impression of them. & I didn't put Cristiano Ronaldo in my top 5 midfielders cos he's a money sucker who is a star, not a soccer star. Fame has overwhelmed him and I expect his performance to deteriorate then.
So soccer freaks out there, if you have a blog and read this post, why don't think about your top5 in each soccer position as well and share it with us? =)
